Are the mailboxes painted on both sides?
The postmount mailboxes have the designs and personalizing painted on both sides. The house mount styles have the design on the body of the mailbox and a small design and the personalizing is on the flap.
What kind of mailboxes are used?
We now have the largest selection of mailboxes. We offer Good quality galvanized steel mailboxes in post mount and wall mount styles. We offer a 33% heavier gauge Better quality galvanized steel post mount. We offer the Best heavy gauge cast aluminum post mount which is rust proof. We purchase our USPS approved mailboxes directly from the manufacturers. These mailboxes are baked on enamel and then we hand paint each one individually per your choice. All hardware is included (flag, door handles, etc.). We also offer 4 sizes of hand crafted wooden mailboxes made exclusively for Morgan Mailboxes & More.
Are the hand painted mailboxes/plaques and signs weatherproof?
Each item is primed first, then hand painted with a UV resistant exterior weatherproof paint. Each item is then coated with 2-3 layers of a special exterior clear coat sealer which forms a hard outer shell to further protect the mailbox finish and the artwork.
Do I need to do anything to protect my mailbox or plaque?
We include a general care information sheet with every order detailing the care and maintenance to further enhance the longevity of your mailbox and its artwork. We also recommend using ordinary car polish at least once a year to further protect the item and the artwork and add to the longevity.
How do I know the dimensions and colors available?
Check Mailbox Sizes on the menu bar which shows the styles, sizes, colors and dimensions of the mailboxes that we offer.
How much does it cost to personalize an item?
Personalizing is free of charge. Personalizing is created by commercial grade sign vinyl, the kind used on service and trade vehicles. Color choices are black, white, metallic gold, metallic silver and hunter green.
Can you rush my order?
We do not accept "rush' orders. Art can not be rushed. There is prepping, hand painting, varnishing, drying, packing and shipping procedures. More importantly it is not fair to move orders in front of others who have already been waiting. We offer gift certificates which can be sent immediately or check out Morgan Home Accents where many gift items can be shipped within a few weeks.
How long does it take to receive an item once the order has been placed?
Delivery time is currently running approximately 4-6 weeks, unless otherwise stated. Every item is made to order especially for you as nothing is mass produced. During certain times of the year, the demand becomes greater and the delivery time will be longer. Diane Morgan is a professional traditional decorative painter and uses basecoating, shading, hi-lighting, mixing and blending of colors which is very time consuming. This is not the quick and easy method of "One Stroke."
Why has my credit card already been charged?
All commissioned artwork is paid for at the time the order is placed. Due to the time involved and large number of existing orders, payment must be made in advance to cover labor and materials. Unfortunately we can not do"on spec" nor send sketches for approval. Through the email process and phone conversations we can determine what you have in mind.
What are the shipping methods?
We usually ship via UPS. Delivery should take 3-5 business days to arrive.
How do I know when my item has been shipped?
Check the Online Order Status page and follow along with your order progress. In process means that your order is in the current orders. Once it is painted, varnished, dried and packed, the order status will reflect the shipping date.
What if I need something right away?
Please check out Morgan Home Accents, which features many items that can be shipped within a week. Also, gift certificates are available for purchase for either our own designs or a custom order. Contact us for further info.
